Lemon Drop Martini’s are so refreshing and delicious any time of year when you want to have a special cocktail. But, add a bit of Lemoncello Italian liquor to your Lemon Drop and now you’ve got something really yummy!
As a foodie, I’ve been out and about to many a restaurant and ordered a lemon drop martini, and they can be made with or without Lemoncello. However, I typically ask the bartender to add some to the martini if they have it on hand. It just gives it a nicer flavor. Well, at least I think so.
And, like so many other recipes, this was one I wanted to master at home and share with others. First, because it costs so much less to make at home, and also there’s nothing better than relaxing on your own deck or patio, enjoying a fancy cocktail. Am I right? So here’s the recipe!
Ingredients for One Lemoncello Lemon Drop Martini
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Lemoncello Liquor
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 to 1 Teaspoon sugar (depending on how sweet you like it).
1/4 Cup Water
1 Lemon wedge for garnish
Rosemary sprig for garnish (optional)
More sugar to rim glass (optional)
4. Drink and Enjoy! 🙂
Here’s two Lemoncello Lemon Drop Martini’s we enjoyed out on our deck towards the end of this past summer. I also spilled a bit while getting a few “dirty” ice cubes out of the shaker to add to our drinks. But I tend to like photos that don’t look too staged, so I took the photos right where I spilled the drink and had a lovely afternoon after that. Cheers!
BTW, if you happen to be in Stratford, Connecticut there’s a pretty restaurant overlooking Long Island sound called Knapp’s Landing. There’s a beautiful outdoor patio with a bar and marina area, and a koi pond built into the deck area. We had a great time there.
Food and drinks are amazing, but it’s kind of a hidden gem in an industrial park area, so make sure you have good directions there.
As you can see, I will splurge on a few good martini’s now and again, but still love making my Lemoncello Lemon Drop Martinis at home too!
